“Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.”
Habakkuk 3:17-19 KJV
Isn’t vs 17 a picture or a metaphor for life sometimes?
Maybe you are here right now.
Nothing you touch works out and it all looks like failure.
Instead of the Midas touch where everything turns to gold it feels like you have the “light it on fire and burn it to the ground touch”!
We have all been here and maybe some are still here!
In these times it can be difficult for our human minds to find joy in the journey.
We are stressed!
We are weary and worn out!
God offers Hope through Habakkuk!
Vs 18 &19 - When there isn’t anything else to find joy in…rejoice in the God of your salvation!
At least I am saved and on my way to heaven!
He saved us from an eternity in hell!
He can save us from these circumstances as well!
It doesn’t say He will be the God of your salvation.
It says.. He IS the God of MY salvation!
Take that promise and hang on to it with all you are worth!
Personalize it!
God ALWAYS comes through for you no matter what!
He is never late!
He is always right on time!
And His ways are always right and always perfect!
He is our strength when our strength is gone!
He will lift us up when we can’t get up on our own!
We WILL dance with joy like the deer in the hillside frolicking through the heather!
We WILL be on the mountain again and the valley of the shadow of death will be behind us yet again!
Rest in Hope and rejoice in the God of your salvation!
