December meditation #5

“Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭103‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The word bless here means Praise.

When you reread the verse with the word praise in mind it brings such joy to the Psalm!

God has been so very good to us!

“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭68‬:‭19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The Psalmist here says that God daily loads is with benefits!

What are benefits?

According to Mr. Webster its kindness, favor, health, prosperity, good, advantages.

Can you think of any benefits that God loaded you with lately?

Think of the phrase that says He “forgiveth all thine iniquities”.

He doesn't pick and choose what He will forgive even though He would completely right and just to do so!

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

‭‭1 John‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

All means all and that's all, All means!

He is the Healer of all things broken!

He is the Only Healer of diseases! Doctors treat but only God can heal!

Then there's the benefit of redemption from destruction!

If we don't get any other benefits this one alone makes Him worthy of our praise.

We deserve everlasting destruction but the Father loves us so much he provided a redemption plan through Jesus Christ!

What about His mercy?

According to Lamentations His mercies are brand new every morning!

God does not believe in leftovers!

God is so kind to us! Even His chastisements feel like the balm of Gilead.

He allows our hearts to beat and our lungs to take a breath. He controls of every cell and fiber.

He dispels favor to us. We are allowed to come boldly to the throne in our time of need. So often we only come to the throne when we need or want something. He never chides us for this. He wants us to come to Him for anything! Nothing is too small or big for our Father! The Word says He is inclined to hear our cry. He is waiting and longing to hear from YOU today!

He actively provides for our needs many times even before we know there is a need!

He made water refreshing and food tasty and colorful!

Nothing tastes the same it provides necessary elements for our physical strength and well-being!

Meditating just on these few things, it is easy to see how worthy of Praise our God truly is!
