  • Which “father” are you more like

  • Do you live by the law of faith

Romans 3:3 (KJV) For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?

  • Whether or not we believe what is in Gods word does not change its veracity

  • There are things in the Bible that are “hard” things John 6:60 (KJV) Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard [this], said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?

  • Their are things we have to take on faith, as an example the word mystery is used 22 times most of them refer to the changes that take place at salvation, how god chooses to work

  • If we believe in Gods word he will always give us more light, as we act on what we have been shown

Romans 3:4 (KJV) God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

  • Titus 1:2 (KJV)In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

  • John 8:44 (KJV)Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

  • Which father do I represent in my speech God who cannot lie or Satan who cannot tell the truth

  • Your “besetting” sin may or may not be lying, but we all lie and when we do we are aligning ourselves to the old father

    • Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

    • This is not defined because it’s different for all of us

Romans 3:10-18 (KJV) 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13 Their throat [is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their lips: 14 Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet [are] swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery [are] in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 Romans 3:10-18 (KJV) 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13 Their throat [is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their lips: 14 Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet [are] swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery [are] in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

The first part of this is loosely quoting ps 14

The sobering thing in this is in verse 18 no fear of god

That is the one I think we can all fall into as a natural reaction to not seeing God in every part of our lives. When I see God in all aspects of my life I am more likely to fear him.

Romans 3:20 (KJV) Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.

  • I know most Christians would say they don’t believe in works based salvation, but do we believe our works curry favor with God. I am not saying not to stop good works, but to do them for the right reason. Make sure your motives are right

  • Matthew 6:3 (KJV)But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

Romans 3:27-28 (KJV) 27 Where [is] boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

  • How are you practicing the law of faith

  • The issue with faith from a purely fleshly point of view there is often not any visible evidence of your faith, you cannot keep score outwardly. So hard for me to not keep score,

  • How can you tell if you are keeping physical score a little too much?

    • How often do you use the pronouns

      • I

      • Me

      • My

      • Mine

  • Help me to do a better job in living by the law of Faith
